Since 2016, our mobile technicians have helped tens of thousands of UK drivers with performance, emissions, and fault-related issues. But over time, we saw the same story again and again: drivers confused by fault lights, misled by garages, or simply stuck waiting weeks just to get a basic diagnosis.
We knew there had to be a better way.
The Idea That Couldn't Be Ignored:
Back in 2017, we had the brainwave to develop a tool that would allow drivers to perform basic engine fault code scans themselves and upload their findings to us. It was a simple concept at the time: The proposed tool would scan engine codes and upload the codes, where we could manually assess the findings and assist the drivers. Because the current technology wasn’t quite up to the standards we wanted to offer, and the project was expensive, we decided to put the project on the back burner.
Fast forward to late 2022, when AI reached public availability, which was a real game changer. Our CEO, Matt Wallace, instantly recognised the opportunity: This technology now enables far more than just reading fault codes – We could now translate them into English, removing jargon, while evaluating safety risks, and assisting drivers with smart, confident decisions… instantly.
